While I sat idly by in history class one day
I opted to pay attention
For the story of those who bravely fought
To the story of those we lost
For it not for them, I may not live
Not a breathe that I could take
For they had fought for our freedom
So that we could live in peace
It saddens me to think, how the memories are passed
So many choose to forget
The significance of their lost
But I for one shall always remember,
The sacrifice they made
For it not for those who bravely stood
True freedom would be but a word
